Our business grew out of some unexpected beginnings. We weren’t really planning a business initially. Our eBay learning curve started when we chanced upon a rare collectible in a trash dumpster. Well… actually, Jim thought it had some collectible value – Diane just thought it was trash.
It sat in our garage for about six months and Diane
repeatedly threatened to throw it out before we finally agreed that the only
way to know whether it might be worth anything was to see if it could be sold
on eBay. Mind you, we had never bought
or sold anything online before and had no idea what we were doing. We muddled through the process, however, and
our very first auction ended with a winning bidder who purchased our dumpster
find for over $1,000… well, you can
imagine how quickly we fell in love with eBay selling after that!
It didn’t take too long before we realized that our hobby could turn into a business if we really applied ourselves to learning all the nuances, so that’s when we decided to take things seriously – and that’s how Rocky Mountain Online Auctions began.
Within just a few months of dedicated selling and study, we qualified to register our new business as an official eBay Trading Assistant, and just before our first anniversary in business, we earned the title of eBay Power Seller.
Most recently, we have expanded our business with the
opening of our eBay store, RMOA Outlet.
Our services now include helping retailers and volume sellers who want
to sell products on eBay. To find out
